Interviews from the Second MSI Notebook "Love with the Wind" Charity Drive

For MSI Notebook's second "Love with the Wind" charity drive, 10 Digital Opportunity Centers (DOC) out of the 40 overseen by the Ministry of Education were chosen based on their performance for the donation of additional Wind U100 netbooks. The top 4 DOCs were also interviewed, providing a better picture of the gulf between the city and the countryside. Many families in remote townships for example don't have their own computer and even if they did, they might not have access to the Internet. The difficulties they had in accessing information provided a stark contrast to the well-developed IT infrastructure in the cities.

The educational challenges facing DOCs in remote townships were not limited to a shortage of equipment, primitive facilities or geographical isolation. Traditional ways of thought, grand-parenting and foreign brides all led to a passive attitude among local people. Despite the limited resources and staffing, DOC workers still did their utmost to promote the convenience and importance of the Internet to the general public and the community with passion and dedication.

The DOC workers were all very passionate about their jobs and very appreciative of MSI's efforts because the donated NBs allowed them to conduct community interviews, health checks, awareness programs, mobile classrooms and more. With the Wind U100 netbook, they now have a whole new level of mobility and portability….

I have notice that MSI has constantly engaged itself into such drives. This shows how much MSI cares about society and its own responsibilities towards society.

Good to see that a reputed company like MSI is working so well for the society. Very rare business houses work for there social responsibilities.
